This is the perfect place to spend a few hours, in the hillside village of beautiful Mijas. If you travel by car it is recommended you park in the municipal multi-story car park behind the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) – when approaching from Fuengirola or Benalmádena turn into the village by the roundabout and filling station at the top of the hill. When the road forks take the left fork along Avenida de Mejico and follow the parking signs. Turn left down the very steep Calle del Muro; bear left and you’ll see the multi-story car park. Exit the car park by the top floor and take your parking ticket with you.You exit the car park into the main square in Mijas and here you can join all those who arrived by bus, as the terminus is just off the same square..
This enchanting village of Mijas is situated in the lowlands of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range and is surrounded by pine forest.
The village nestles in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level and has a population of 7,500. The nearest main town is the Spanish sea-side resort Fuengirola (8km), Málaga airport is 25 minutes by car Mijas has managed to retain much of its "white village" charm, with cobbled, narrow winding streets, dazzling whitewashed walls and breathtaking views.
Mijas Costa is a diverse stretch of coastline on the Costa del Sol, nestled between Fuengirola and the east Marbella resort of Cabopino.
The area encompasses the popular holiday resorts of Calahonda, Riviera del Sol and La Cala de Mijas. Mijas Costa is an ideal destination for both family and friend holidays, with safe beaches and local shops, bars, restaurants and golf on hand in each resort.
